Group promises 4m votes for BBM-Sara

An advocacy group identified with the late movie icon Fernando Poe Jr., along with the Ako OFW party-list, on Monday promised to deliver four million votes among their combined membership for presidential bet Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and his running-mate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte in the May 9 polls.

At the sideline of the weekly Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan forum at B Hotel in Quezon City, Joseph Cadsawan, national president of the Filipinos for Peace, Justice and Prosperity Movement (FPJPM), said the organization alone could gather two million votes or more for the BBM-Sara tandem.

“My father (Boots), FPJPM founder, and the entire movement, backed Senator Grace Poe when she ran in the presidential race in 2016. We remain loyal to FPJ whose advocacy and platforms of governance are parallel with that of the tandem’s,” he told the Manila Standard.

He maintained that there is no more need for Marcos to attend presidential debates as he slammed vice presidential candidate Walden Bello for urging the youth voters to force Marcos and Duterte to join debates.

“We already know the capacity of Mr. Marcos. They have made up their mind not to take part in any debate,” he said.

Senatorial bet Astra Pimentel of PDP-Laban said the party-list can gather 1.9 million votes.

She, however, echoed President Rodrigo Duterte’s claim that leftists have used the party-list system to infiltrate Congress, referring to them by the acronym KABAG (stomach pains in Filipino). Rio N. Araja

KABAG means Kabataan-K, Anakpawis-A, Bayan Muna-B, (Alliance) of Concerned Teachers- A and Gabriela.”
