Call them the Fiber Xers.
This is the moniker the team that the franchise Converge ICT Solutions will carry going into the Philippine Basketball Association’s Season 47.
Team officials unravelled the name of the league’s newest club following its official launch at the Edsa Shangri-la Manila on Tuesday.
The new team’s entry into the pro league comes a few weeks after Converge ICT Solutions acquired the Alaska franchise.
Present during the introduction event were Converge ICT founders Dennis Anthony Uy and and wife Grace, and PBA commissioner Willie Marcial.
The Fiber Xers will be building their roster by aquiring the nos. 3, 4 and 15 picks in the draft.
There are talks to have Allyn Bulanadi and former Alaska players sign up for the Fiber Xers.
There’s also interest in having Kevin Racal, Robbie Herndon, Alec Stockton, Jaycee Marcelino, Rey Publico and veteran Bryan Faundo play for the Fiber Xers.
Former Alaska coach Jeff Cariaso will come aboard to call the shots.
