The Social Housing Finance Corp. recently conducted its first in-person orientation of the community mortgage program in Magalang, Pampanga after two years of the COVID-19 pandemic
Cesar Macaspac, Insurance and Community Enhancement Division manager, said there were over 1,700 people who took part in the overview of the CMP, the agency’s flagship initiative that assists legally organized associations of informal settler families to purchase and develop a tract of land under the concept of community ownership.
He said he discussed the type of loan a community association could avail of from SHFC, one of the key shelter agencies under the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development.
Other concerns from the Pampangueños were also tackled, including eligibility, application requirements and processes.
“It felt amazing that we are again going physically to the communities to discuss our housing programs to prospective beneficiaries. As public servants, we are committed to delivering the best service to the people, pandemic or not,” he said.
SHFC president Arnolfo Ricardo Cabling and Mayor Romulo Pecson earlier signed a memorandum of understanding for the provision of decent and affordable housing for low-income families in the municipality of Magalang.
