Fil-Australian Kathleen Paton is finally competing on the international pageant stage as she vies for Miss Eco International title, which 7th edition is set in Cairo, Egypt from March 6 to 18.
The 24-year-old beauty was born in Boracay Island but migrated to Australia as a child. She aims to be the second Filipina to wear the crown after Cynthia Thomalla’s title conquest in 2018.
A former Miss Manila 2018 and Miss Teen International 2017, Paton is pursuing a Business Management degree at Victoria University.
She advocates mental health being a survivor herself after suffering mental health issues since she was 18 when she was diagnosed with severe depression and anxiety in Australia. She created an Instagram account called PONO Society, from the Hawaiian word ‘pono’ which means ‘righteousness’ where she shares nuggets of wisdom on how to be better mentally.
Paton, who sings and plays the violin, is following after two consecutive first runner-up finishes by Philippine representatives with Maureen Montagne in 2019 and Kelley Day in 2020-2021. Reigning Miss Eco International is Gizzelle Uys of South Africa.
Meanwhile, Miss Environment Philippines 2021 Michelle Arceo is set to compete in the first Miss Environment International 2022 pageant to be held in Mumbai, India, on April 2.
Arceo, a 23-year-old, Filipino-American, born in California, USA, was Ms. BodyCon 2019 and the grand winner of Gandang Filipina 2017 competition of Willie Revillame’s GMA Wowowin show.

Blue, yellow and white rule Marianne Martin’s new fashion collection
Fashion designer Marianne Martin is focusing on blue, yellow, and white in her upcoming show for Fashion Forte at Crowne Plaza Hotel in Ortigas on March 24, 6:00 p.m.
“Sky blue projects the calmness and tranquility of water. Yellow is for optimism, enthusiasm, and positivity. White stands for a woman’s purity and cleanliness of heart,” Martin explains.
The models will walk the ramp in informal wear like mini-skirts and shorts and formal ball gowns. There will be a mix of operatic ball gowns, construction, and clothes inspired by dream cuts.
Meanwhile, in a nod to the challenging pandemic times, Martin said her new collection will have fewer beads, Swarovski crystals, and other embellishments. The touches of luxury will be subtle and less dramatic.
But the overall look remains softly feminine but fierce.
“Women had to endure a lot since the pandemic started,” noted Martin. Thus, she wants to inspire and boost their confidence through her collection.
Martin believes fashion should not only target beauty. It should also have social relevance and help the community cope with present problems.

Mrs. Asia Pacific Global 2019 birthday to orphans
On her 46th birthday celebration, former Mrs. Asia Pacific Global 2019 Avon Morales brought cheers to the orphans housed at the Social Development Center in Pasay City on Saturday.
Morales, a TV host, HR head and former Rotary president has been consistently fulfilling her personal mission to help others even in these times of the pandemic.
Morales, with the cooperation and support of the Queen of Hearts Foundation, headed by CEO Mitzie Go Gil, hosted a special program for the children and handed out toys, hygiene kits, clothes, and food packs to the 20 girls and 11 boys under the care of the institution.
Morales started to get involved in charitable work taking inspiration from her mother’s triumph over the “Big C.” She has been passionate about advocating empowerment of the underprivileged communities.
