With the current success of the GMA primetime offering Mano Po Legacy: The Family Fortune in the ratings game, screen newbie Rob Gomez expresses his gratitude for being part of the primetime program.
Rob considers his exposure as a step up to becoming a household byword. In fact, his social media following steadily increases and his tandem with Barbie Forteza is continuously gaining more attention.
“I’m really very thankful to play the part of Joseph Chan in the soap opera,” Rob avers. “For people to recognize the work we put in definitely feels good. I’m thrilled with all the positive comments we’ve been receiving since the program started airing. I’m also glad that people appreciate my tandem with Barbie. It’s an honor to share the frame with such a great actress like her.”
The showbiz newbie has nothing but good words for his leading lady noting that “Barbie is amazing and a very good actress.”
“She’s kind and super approachable as well. Definitely, I’m learning a lot from her and I do hope to collaborate with her more in future projects,” he states.
Being part of Mano Po makes Rob appreciate his fans more. He considers them as his inspiration to be his best self.
At present, Rob has a growing fan base due to the popularity of the soap he’s appearing in.
“That’s why I challenge myself every day to be the best person that I can be, stay nice and humble, and of course work harder. I am praying for more opportunities to come my way,” he says.
Rob also feels flattered when people commend his acting skill and it excites him more to showcase more of his talent doing leading man roles in the future.
“I am still in shock with the praises I receive. My heart is simply full of gratitude. I just want to do better in return and give back to the show’s followers as well as GMA and Regal Entertainment.”
Many say that he has a strong resemblance to his uncle Gary Estrada. Some people even say that he moves like him.
“It’s an honor to be compared to him. I look highly of him. He’s an amazing fellow who knows how to respect people and people respect him in return. He’s my idol when I was in my growing up years,” he admits.
“It would be hard to duplicate his life and career achievements. I think we have different approaches when it comes to acting. But as I’ve said earlier, to be compared to him is a compliment.”
One thing that Rob is proud of is the fact that he is gradually getting recognized through his own merits and not because he is a member of the illustrious Ejercito clan in showbiz.
