The tandem of Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Francisco “Kiko” Pangilinan is set to hold proclamation rallies in the Bicol region on February 8 and February 9.
The tandem’s campaign manager, former House deputy speaker Erin Tañada said the proclamation rally will be held in Naga, Camarines Sur on Feb. 8, and in other areas of Bicol region on Feb. 9.
Speaking on Robredo’s weekly radio show, Tañada said all 12 candidates under the tandem’s Senate slate were invited to attend the proclamation events.
The Leni-Kiko tandem’s senatorial slate includes senators Risa Hontiveros and Leila De Lima, former senator Antonio Trillanes, former congressman Teddy Baguilat, and lawyers Chel Diokno, Sonny Matula and Alex Lacson.
The tandem’s guest candidates include former Vice President Jejomar Binay, Sorsogon Gov. Chiz Escudero, and senators Richard Gordon, Joel Villanueva and Juan Miguel Zubiri.
Earlier, the Makabayan bloc expressed support for the Leni-Kiko tandem.
The Makabayan bloc earlier expressed confidence that it can deliver three million votes for the Leni-Kiko tandem.
Makabayan co-chair Neri Colmenares said the coalition has “traditionally” carried three to 3.5 million votes in previous past elections. The bloc said this could significantly “help” the candidacies of Robredo and Pangilinan.
Colmenares was quoted in reports saying that the “Makabayan bloc will deliver the votes to Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Kiko Pangilinan.”
