BRAVE Combat Federation garnered a noteworthy recognition at the 7th Annual FightBook MMA Awards for its effort to work through the so-called new normal in 2021.
Staying true to its commitment to deliver top-notch mixed martial arts action to fans around the world, American website FightBook MMA bestowed the Global Promotion of the Year award on BRAVE CF for the fifth year in a row
Founded by His Highness Shaikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Khalifa in 2016, the Bahrain-based outfit overcame an array of challenges caused by the global health crisis last year, finding a way to hold a total of 11 live shows in countries such as Russia, Belarus, Italy, Kazakhstan, Poland, and Serbia.
The year 2021 was an eventful one as it witnessed the successful title defense of BRAVE CF Super Lightweight World Champion Eldar Eldarov with his first-round stoppage of Leonardo Mafra and the coronation of Ahmed “The Butcher” Amir as the BRAVE CF Lightweight World Champion by way of unanimous decision against Amin “Fierceness” Ayoub.
Meanwhile, new contenders emerged through the pandemic-raged year with the likes of Abdisalam “Omok” Kubanychbek, Tae “Ares” Kyun Kim, Velimurad Alkhasov, Sam “The Future” Patterson, and Ahmad “The Shadow” Labban establishing themselves in their respective divisions.
Aside from the organization itself, BRAVE CF 50—the culminating card of the four-event stretch known as “21 Days of MMA Mayhem” held from March to April last year—shared the 2021 Best Event of the Year citation with UFC 268 and LFA 97.
Members of the BRAVE CF broadcast panel were recognized during the recently-concluded 7th Annual FightBook MMA Awards as Carlos Kremer won the Cage Announcer of Year for the fifth-straight time, while for the second year in a row, Phil Campbell and Kirik Jenness claimed the MMA Commentators of the Year trophy.
The promotion recently announced its curtain-raiser for 2022. BRAVE CF 57, set for March 11 at the Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town, Bahrain, will feature a five-round encounter between Hamza Kooheji and Brad Katona for the vacant BRAVE CF Bantamweight World Championship.
More bouts for BRAVE CF 57 will be announced in the days to come.
