Aboitiz Power Corp. has touted its Cleanergy portfolio as more consumers become more aware in availing of the benefits of renewable energy.

“We are truly honored to have been chosen as a partner of all these successful businesses and organizations. It is our commitment to continue providing ample, reliable, and reasonably-produced power to our customers by maximizing renewable energy for as long as feasible, while at the same time using the reliability and cost-efficiency of fossil-fired power plants,” said Aboitiz Power president and chief executive officer Emmanuel Rubio.

Aboitiz Power and its partners are generating 1,254 megawatts of electricity, or about 27 percent of the company’s net sellable capacity.

Aboitiz Power’s renewable energy portfolio includes solar, geothermal, run-of-river hydro, and large hydropower facilities across the Philippines.

One of the companies that signed up with Aboitiz Power was NEO Property Management Inc., which renewed a partnership for the supply of 13.5 megawatts to its facilities in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig in January last year.

NEO teamed up with Aboitiz Power in 2013 for the supply of Cleanergy, the latter’s brand for clean and renewable energy.

“We want to give our customers an overall ‘green’ experience, from the design and architecture of our buildings, up to the power supply we use,” said NEO chief executive officer Raymond Rufino earlier.

Food and beverage industry leader Nestlé Philippines made the switch to Cleanergy in 2017, partnering with AboitizPower for the supply of clean and renewable energy to its manufacturing facility in Lipa, Batangas.

Following the switch, more Nestle facilities have been powered by Cleanerg—factories in Cabuyao, Laguna and Tanuan, Batangas, as well as its corporate administrative office in Makati City.

The 17-MW aggregated energy demand of the Nestlé facilities comes from  Aboitiz Power’s MakBan geothermal power plant in the provinces of Laguna and Batangas.

Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa in Cebu, one of the country’s top resort destinations, also chose Aboitiz Power’s Cleanergy to power their operations and support their environmental sustainability initiatives.
