Fulfilling the essence of giving this holiday season, NLEX Corporation donated Php 1.5 million worth of goods and construction materials to typhoon-stricken areas in Southern Leyte and Cebu. The tollway company also distributed Christmas packages to 350 members of its host communities in Quezon City, Caloocan City, Valenzuela City, and Pampanga.
“Amidst the holiday rush, we would like to give back and be a channel of blessing to others. This way, we can somehow alleviate the burdens of our fellowmen who are going through difficult times,” said NLEX Corporation President and General Manager Luigi Bautista.
Immediately reponding to the devastation caused by the severe typhoon, NLEX Corporation sent bottles of water, boxes of assorted canned goods, sacks of rice, boxes of noodles, blankets, and galvanized iron sheets to Maasin, Southern Leyte. It also provided Php 500,000 worth of relief packs to the local government units of Cebu and Cordova.
NLEX’s PBA team, the NLEX Road Warriors, also contributed by donating their Christmas Party budget amounting to Php 100,000 to Alagang Kapatid Foundation’s relief efforts for the communities affected by the recent calamity.
Aside from Typhoon Odette relief efforts, NLEX also fulfilled their continuous commitment in providing for the community by sending Noche Buena packs to 150 Tullahan River volunteer cleaners and 200 Aeta families from Porac, Pampanga in its yearly initiative of giving cheer during the holidays and as part of the MVP Group’s “Tuloy Pa Rin Ang Pasko” campaign. The tollway company also organized a company-wide “Toys for Tots” project where employees may donate toys for children in Bulacan orphanages.
