The Department of the Interior and Local Government has recognized Muntinlupa’s efforts on river clean-up drives and other local initiatives as part of the Manila Bay Clean-Up, Rehabilitation, and Preservation Program (MBCRPP).
Muntinlupa Environmental Sanitation Center head Lorna Misa presented the city’s awards to Mayor Jaime Fresnedi during a courtesy call of the local environmental council last December 21.
The local government was recognized as one of the highly compliant LGUs in the implementation of the MCBRPP garnering a total score of 91.50% and ranking 4th place in the National Capital Region (NCR). The results were released after the LGU Compliance Assessment held last December 6.
Muntinlupa City was also recognized as Top Performer in the Informal Settler Families (ISF) Category and Information Education and Communication and Institutional Arrangements (IEC-AC) Category in the program.
The Manila Bay Task Force was awarded on December 17 at the Manila Hotel.
In 2018, the city was also adjudged the Top Performing LGU for the MBCRPP Annual Exit Conference and Rank 2 for the Regional Assessment of LGU Compliance to the MBCRPP (Q3 2017 – Q2 2018).
While in 2016, Muntinlupa received a citation for the program from the Department of Environmental and Natural Resources.
