The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) was awarded by the Presidential Communications Operations Office- Freedom of Information- Project Management Office (PCOO FOI-PMO) as its 2021 FOI Champion, placing 2nd runner-up in the Agencies/Bureaus/Commissions/Councils category.
This marked the back-to-back win streak for the MTRCB as it was also recognized by the award-giving body as an FOI Champion 1st runner-up in 2020.
Anchored on upholding the Filipino people’s constitutional right to information, the MTRCB used as inspiration the challenges posed by the COVID-19 in improving its transparency initiatives. The FOI Awards, which was held at Radisson Blu Hotel in Cebu City on Nov. 25, is an annual event organized by the PCOO which recognizes the efforts of government agencies, individuals, and organizations who have made significant contributions to the development and progress of the FOI Program.
