Impact Pioneers Network announced its first two investments made through the angel network.
Members of the network jointly funded Cropital and Green Habits, with combined funding of around $80,000.
This is a major milestone for the Impact Pioneers Network in its mission to leapfrog the impact investment ecosystem in the Philippines and fund 100 impact enterprises in the next five years.
Cropital is a crowdlending platform for Filipino smallholder rice farmers, while Green Habits is an agro-enterprise based in Tagum City, Davao del Norte that also works with smallholder farmers.
Angel investors from the Impact Pioneers Network participating in the round include Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation Inc., Foundation for a Sustainable Society Inc., and other individual angel investors. Impact Pioneers Network also participated in the round, made possible through the support of the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
