Coach Edmundo “Ato” Badolato left a legacy as he passed away Sunday night due to cardiac arrest.
Badolato, 74, was considered as one the best high school coaches before he retired and became San Beda’s basketball and athletic director in 2004.
The San Beda Red Cubs won 15 of their 23 high school cage championships, with Badolato at the helm.
Badolato’s remains can be viewed during internment at San Beda-Mendiola until Wednesday, according to Red Lions’ team manager Jude Roque.
During Badolato’s watch, players like LA Tenorio, champion coach Eric Altamirano, Borgie Hermida, Benjie Paras, Dindo Pumaren, Ronnie Magsanoc, JVee Casio and Baser Amer saw action for the Red Cubs.
After his retirement, Badolato went on to handle San Beda’s robust high school program and produced numerous talented cagers along the way.
