Some 402 Navoteños recently completed various courses from the Navotas Vocational Training and Assessment Institute.

Of this, 231 availed the NAVOTAAS Institute Scholarship Program funded by the city government while 171 were under programs of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.

Mayor Toby Tiangco congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to use the skills they acquired to build a sustainable livelihood.

“It is not enough to have skills. For you to succeed, you must work hard and persevere to achieve your goals and seek constant improvement,” he advised.

Navotas has four training centers that offer courses such as housekeeping, bread and pastry production, barista, wellness massage, contact center servicing, animation, and visual graphics, among others.

They also hold special courses on Japanese and Korean language and culture, as well as trainings on processing of fish, meat and fruits and vegetables.

Aside from tech-voc courses, the institute also provides NavoHusay soft skills trainings including values formation seminar, basic English proficiency seminar, employability skills training, entrepreneurship seminar, and Labor Education for Graduating Students Seminar.

Recently, the NAVOTAAS Institute Annexes I and II established their respective child-minding rooms to allow parents to undergo training without fear about the safety of their children.

Bonafide residents of Navotas may study at the institute for free while non-Navoteños may enroll and take assessment exams for a fee, depending on the course they will take.
