Dream Homes: The perfect gift to OFWs and their families this Christmas

Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who came home to the Philippines for the holidays want to make full use of their limited time back in the country. This is usually a time spent going around the Philippines, visiting famous travel destinations with the family, and taking a break from the hard work they do overseas for the rest of the year.

Coincidentally, it is also a time of celebration, as the Philippines is a big fan of Christmas. It’s not just homes decked in holiday decor–even malls turn to holiday destinations because of sales everywhere. Last weekend, Mall of Asia even had an additional place of interest for OFW home seekers and their families: The Lamudi Housing Fair at the Music Hall.

Held last December 14, the Lamudi Housing Fair in Mall of Asia welcomed property seekers as they looked at the booths from various property developers, banks, and other companies in related industries. Home seekers and OFW investors eager to learn more about homeownership had plenty to do at the whole-day fair.

Here are some of the highlights of the Housing Fair in MOA:

Informative Exhibits

MyCitiHomes, Ortigas Land, P.A. Properties, Damosa Land, Inc., Hausland Development Corporation, Hidalgo Land Development Corporation, Megaworld Global Estate Resorts, Inc., and PHINMA Properties showcased their portfolio and services in their booths, giving seekers an overview of the options available when they dip their toe into real estate investing.

Representatives from RCD Land, Robinsons Land Corporation, Solar Resources, Inc., and CDC Holdings, Inc. were also present as exhibitors, sharing their expertise and work.

Property seekers at the fair also had the opportunity to score some special promos and discounts in the booths they visited.

Aside from trusted property developers, there were also financial institutions that were part of the pool of exhibitors. This includes BPI Family, Citibank, and UnionBank of the Philippines.

OFWs who were planning to buy a home or an investment property were able to consult such experts on how to draw up a budget and secure a loan.

Foodpanda was also among the exhibitors. Their booth gave first-time and current app users promo codes for discounts.

Free Broker Training

The Lamudi Housing Fair is not just an investment shop, so to speak. It also served as an avenue for learning last December 14, with talks focused on the real estate industry courtesy of the Lamudi Academy. Brokers in attendance learned about the top online lead generation channels, and around 4:30 PM, Lamudi Academy conducted a training for converting online leads into sales. The agents who participated considered the talks as an appropriate year-ender, as it allowed them to evaluate their strategies and to come up with an improved game plan for 2020.

There were also learning sessions given by leading property developers in the country. Federal Land, Inc. gave a presentation about their projects. DMCI Homes also talked about their plans for the future, enticing the audience to look out for new developments from the trusted developer.

Lancaster New City also shared a presentation, ensuring that agents and property seekers went home with newfound learnings about the property industry.

Federal Land, Inc. and Lancaster New City are major sponsors of the fair, while DMCI Homes and AboitizLand, Inc. are minor sponsors.

Finding Your Dream Home—Even While You’re Overseas

The Lamudi Housing Fair 2019 in MOA was a success, not just for the company, but also for the real estate community, at large. It brought together property experts, developers, and brokers all geared toward one goal: successfully turning OFW property seekers into proud owners of their dream homes.

The Lamudi Housing Fair was held in partnership with the Subdivision & Housing Developers Association, Inc. (SHDA). Media partners BusinessWorld, Business Mirror, Malaya Business Insight, Manila Standard, Philippine Daily Inquirer Property, and The Philippine Star also helped make the event a success.

As the last leg of the series of housing fairs for 2019, the Lamudi Housing Fair in MOA ends the year on a good note. Seekers, real estate investors, developers, and brokers now look forward to more events from Lamudi in the coming year, with the affordable housing fair just five months away, to be held in Glorietta on May 9 and 10.
