The inter-agency Technical Working Group formed by the Department of Transportation is eyeing a six-month extension of the motorcycle taxi pilot implementation to allow the participation of new players.
The TWG aims to gather data to determine the viability of motorcycles as a safe mode of public transportation which may be useful in the deliberation of several pending bills in both houses of Congress.

Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board member retired P/Maj. Gen. Antonio Gardiola Jr. heads the TWG. Its members include representatives from the DOTR, LTFRB, Land Transportation Office and the Inter-Agency Council for Traffic.
The pilot implementation will end on Dec. 26, 2019.
