“Serviced residences are typically fully equipped apartments, but include concierge, housekeeping, and other services found in upscale hotels,” said Susan Salcedo, city manager of The Ascott Limited Philippines.

She continued, “The concept is designed for guests on extended visits ranging from a few days to a month or more, and who are looking for a more ‘home-like’ atmosphere than what is offered by a typical hotel.”

The opening of another Citadines property in the Iloilo capital further boosts Ascott’s presence in the country, with 21 properties, nine of which are operational and more opening soon.

It’s the fifth Citadines property in the Philippines, with 121 rooms on offer.

“We are on track to achieve Ascott’s target of 6,000 units in the Philippines by 2020, as we continue to expand through management contracts, franchises, investments, and strategic alliances,” said The Ascott Limited Philippines general manager Daniel Wee.

Citadines Amigo Iloilo comes with complete facilities, including function rooms, fitness center, swimming pool, and all-day dining restaurant. The design and services of the new property is inspired by local influences, a key trait of the brand’s identity.

One is the prominence of hablon in the overall design of the space. Hablon refers to Iloilo’s traditional weaving practice and its artisanal end product, which is traditionally made of local materials such as piña, abaca, and cotton.

Another distinction of the property is the unparalleled service of the local staff, as Ilonggos are renowned for their warmth and hospitality, adding familial comfort to the guests’ feel-at-home experience.
