Away from the bustling city, Looc Elementary School in the heart of Nasugbu, Batangas serves as the second home to hundreds of little children. Every day, these kids go to school and attend their basic education classes.

On break time, they spend their time running around the vast school grounds while overlooking the unobstructed scenic view of the nearby mountains. Some also play hide and seek while others happily take turns and play around their little school slide. Nothing fancy, it’s a life anchored in genuine simplicity.
But one special day, their second home turned into a big venue for a children’s party.
Students received adorable toys as well as clothes and grocery items from employee volunteers from The SM Store Lipa and The SM Store Batangas.
The said volunteers played Santa to make these children’s day fun and exciting.
Aside from toys, they were also treated to a day of fun activities such as face painting, interactive games, magic and puppet shows, as well as bubble shows.
On the sidelines, there were also hotdog stands and ice cream booths where children enjoyed some delightful treats.

Mikko, one of the grade school students of Looc Elementary School, shared how much he enjoyed the activities and his new stuffed toy. According to him, such treat happens rarely in their school community.
“Masaya po ako sa natanggap ko na regalo. Masaya at maganda din ang program kanina, nagpa-face paint pa nga po ako. Minsan lang po kasi may ganito dito sa amin (I love the gift I received. I also enjoyed the program, I even joined the face painting since it rarely happens here),” shared Mikko.
Looc Elementary School principal Luciana Tulagan also expressed her joy and gratitude for the fun filled day and the value of sharing and gift-giving that The SM Store was able to embody through this activity.
“Malaki pong kaligayahan ang naibigay ng SM dito sa mga mag-aaral ng Looc Elementary School. Dahil sa Share A Toy ng The SM Store, maimumulat namin sa mga bata na dapat hindi lang tuwing Pasko ang pagbibigayan, kundi lagi (SM brought so much joy to the students of Looc Elementary School. The SM Store’s Share A Toy helps the children learn that giving should be all year round), said Tulagan.

The program is one of the ways that The SM Store creates a culture of sharing and purposeful giving together with its customers.
Shoppers can join the campaign by donating new or pre-loved toys at the Share A Toy booth located in all The SM Store branches nationwide until Dec. 31. For every donation made, shoppers will get a P50 discount coupon. Toys collected will be donated to selected SM Foundation beneficiaries.
