A fleet of buses from a private company will now take care of the transportation needs of the 17 participating team in the ongoing 30th Southeast Asian Games football competitions.
Ceres Negros club owner Leo Rey Yanson is now helping out in coordinating with the Philippine Football Federation on the use of his buses through his company Vallacar Transit.
PFF president Mariano “Nonong" Araneta said he has called on the help of Yanson after transportation snafus, bad traffic and poor coordination greeted delegations from Timor-Leste, Thailand, Myanmar and Cambodia, which have arrived for the start of the tournament.
“We thank them for helping. There are many well-meaning companies out there who are willing to lend a helping hand,” said Araneta.
Araneta said the PFF is closely coordinating with the Philippine SEA Games Organizing Committee in getting clearance for the buses, the use of which will be dedicated to the football teams.
