“We put premium on the health of our constituents. Navoteños deserve the best service we could provide, regardless of age or stature in life,” he said.

Tiangco, together with Association of Barangay Captains—Navotas president, Ricky Gino-Gino and Assistant City Social Welfare and Development Officer, Jennifer Serrano, recently handed a check worth P10,000 to Lorenza Bermudez, the city’s sixth centenarian this year.

Bermudez is a resident of Barangay San Roque who celebrated her 100th birthday last November 19.

“We want our senior citizens to feel they are a significant part, not just of the city’s past but of its present as well. Generations of today look up to them for their wealth of experiences and wisdom. They are a source of inspiration for us all,” Tiangco said.

The mayor recently signed City Ordinance 2019-15, granting a ₱500 “NavoRegalo Para sa mga Lola at Lolo” on their birthdays effective January 2020. Jun David
