As the Philippines plays host to the prestigious Southeast Asian Games, official broadcasters 5 and Cignal Entertainment join together to provide the most comprehensive, up-to-date, and in-depth coverage of the biennial multi-sport event.
The official broadcasters aim to provide unprecedented coverage of the SEA Games with three channels centered on reaching at least half a billion audiences across the region.
The 30th edition of the SEA Games will be the largest in history with 56 sporting events training the spotlight on many sports as possible including esports.
Under the umbrella campaign “Sama-Sama sa SEA Games,” 5 and Cignal TV hope to unite Filipinos locally and abroad to rally behind Philippine athletes, and support them in the games. Likewise, Sama-Sama is a battle cry for the MVP Group that’s working tirelessly and together to provide world-class coverage on free-to-air, pay TV, and digital.
“Our hope is to bring together Filipinos locally and abroad to rally behind our athletes as they experience the games live and through our varied platforms,” Cignal TV and TV5 president and CEO Jane Basas said.
This year marks the fourth time that the Philippines will host the SEA Games. According to Jojit Alcazar, Senior Managing Director at PHISGOC, the event involves11,000 athletes and officials from the 11 member nations and 9,000 volunteers.
TV5 and Cignal will bring the action right from the opening on Nov. 30 all the way to the final date of the Games on Dec. 11.
