The Philippines’ lady campaigner Krizziah Lyn Tabora faltered in the 12th game Tuesday and dropped from 10th to 17th place in the first stage of the 2019 Bowling World Cup international finals in Palembang, Indonesia.
Tabora, the world titlist two years ago in Hermosillo, Mexico, shot a measly 155 to finish her second six-game qualifying series with 1144 for a two-day total of 2338.
The Philippines’ men’s entry, Merwin Tan, fell from 23rd to 29th in the men’s division by rolling 1171 for a total of 2369 in 12 games.
Only the top 24 bowlers in both divisions will advance to the second stage after 24 qualifying games.
Tabora tallied 194, 193, 201, 192 and 203 before crashing to 155, while Tan shot games of 208, 224, 192, 154, 191 and 202 in his second six-game series.
The United States’ Kelly Kulick overtook overnight leader Natasha Roslan of Malaysia with a 12-game total of 2610 for an average of 217.50. Kulick finished second after the first day of competition with 1293.
Kulick carded big games of 247, 237 and 229.
