The City Government of Malabon was given its third Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Award by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Mayor Lenlen Oreta, a known good governance and nutrition advocate, received the latest addition to more than a hundred awards that Malabon City received since he became its local chief executive. The city also received the SGLG award in 2017 and 2018.
“The City Government of Malabon is deeply honored to receive another Seal of Good Local Governance Award, the highest recognition given by the DILG to LGUs. I thank our stakeholders and constituents for their unwavering support to the city government,” Oreta said.
The SGLG is a progressive assessment system that gives LGUs distinction for their remarkable performance in financial administration, disaster preparedness, social protection, peace and order, business-friendliness and competitiveness, environmental protection, and tourism, culture, and the arts.
Recently, Malabon was also hailed as the Most Improved Highly Urbanized City by the Department of Trade and Industry, Finalist in the 2019 Most Business-Friendly LGU, and Most Innovative LGU in Nutrition Program Implementation and Management.
