Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines Inc., the bottling arm of Coca-Cola in the country, teamed up with Buskowitz Energy in the installation of approximately 10,000 solar panels equivalent to 3.9 megawatts in two of its bottling plants.
The move is part of the company’s sustainability roadmap for its operations.
“Our strategies in growing the business have always been aligned with our comprehensive sustainability efforts—this means growing the business the right way,” said Juan Lorenzo Tañada, CCBPI director for corporate and regulatory affairs.
The larger of the two installations in Misamis Oriental will be made up of approximately 7,000 solar panels with a capacity of 2.8 MW.
The second facility in Bacolod will be made up of nearly 3,000 panels totaling 1.1 megawatts. The project has set a December 2019 completion date.
