Dynamic Star RSA is MCC solo champ

Carmona-Dynamic Star RSA of Arnel Alison emerged as a solo champion of the 20th Manila Cockers Club 7-Stag Breeders Festival at the Cockers Arena, G/F Turf Building of the San Lazaro Leisure Park, Barangay Lantic, Governor’s Drive, here recently.

The winning team claimed 7 points after going head to head with some of the industry’s toughest names which included former LGBA Breeder of the Year, Arch. Peter Buendia (Pag Asa Gold Buenas Dias); Edmond Bautista (ABH South Luzon 1);  Engr. Ruben Rabutin (Lucky 4C 1); and Limuel Reyes (PLJ Bravo).   

Bebot Tan, who garnered 6.5 points consisting of 6 wins and 1 draw, was the runner-up. 

Other big names who participated in the festival included World Slasher Cup champion, Thunderbird endorser and Bacolod breeder Dicky Lim; Thunderbird endorsers Teng Ranola and Rey Briones, Rod Advincula, Atty. Carlos Tumpalan, the Bautista Brothers, Engr. Jun Sevilla, and former Congressman Amado Bagatsing.

Meanwhile, the MCC is increasing its breeders’ assistance fund for members participating in its November and December derbies. 

The club will now be awarding a total of P7 million for its 7-Stag National Banded derbies. The amount is broken down to P6 million as participating breeders’ assistance fund (PBAF), and P1 million as additional breeders’ assistance fund (ABAF), awarded to regular members who finish the entire course of the derby. 

The increased breeders’ fund will be awarded during the November 2-10, November 11-19, November 21-29 and December 1, 3-10 derbies.

MCC is accepting bakbakan, digmaan, and salpukan banded stags with a derby weight limit of 1.700kgs. to 2.200kgs (give and take 35g from matched opponent). All derbies will have no entry fees and no minimum/maximum bets. Derby format of 3-stag eliminations and 4-stag pre-finals/finals will be followed. 

The P6 million PBAF is divided as follows: P2.2 million for the champion, P100,000 for the champion handler, P75,000 for the champion gaffer, P250,000, divided for entries that made it to the finals round of the derby, P300,000 for the runner-up, P650,000 for any 6-point participants, P825,000 for the any 5-point participants, P350,000 per pre-finals for 2 days (P700,000), and P150,000 per elimination day for 6 days (P900,000).

Entries with derby score of 1 to 2 points will proceed to the pre-finals’ round. Entries with no loss, 2.5 points (two wins and a draw) up to 3 points will proceed to the finals’ round.
