This October 31 to November 2, Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar invites guests to remember and pay respect to their dearly departed loved ones while taking the time to unwind from the hustle and bustle of the city with its annual “Pangangaluluwa” activity.
“Pangangaluluwa” or “Gabi ng Pangangaluluwa,” the old local version of Westerners’ “trick or treat,” is a three-day activity where a group of people in white blanket or clothes go from one house to another, singing and asking for alms and prayers. Carolers in white are said to represent the souls asking for prayers from the living to help them get to heaven.
Las Casas’ carolers will be serenading their guests from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the heritage area and accessorias.
Moreso, an exciting weekend getaway awaits guests of all ages at Las Casas with its array of activities including film showing, interactive theatrical show Historyland, cultural show, carabao race, halloween costume parade, face painting, photobooth, and more.
Beside some Halloween treats, Las Casas also offers gustatory delights through its three main dining outlets namely Café Marivent at Casa New Manila offering International favorites, Cusina ni Nanay Maria at Casa Unisan serving heirloom Filipino recipes, and La Bella Teodora at Casa Binan highlighting Italian staples.
Starting October 31, check-in guests and day tour visitors may buy their “pasalubongs” at Las Casas’ Weekend Craft Community Market – a local market fair featuring some of local products of the Bataan region in partnership of Bataan Provincial Tourism Office.
