Aspiring chess players get their chance to earn Fide ranking when Malolos City, Bulacan hosts the G-League (Grassroots League) Standard Time Control November Fide Rating Tournament (for 1700 below Fide rated and unrated players).
The event will be held November 9 and 10 at the Vista Mall Malolos with hopes of giving young Filipino wood pushers a chance to gain Fide rating points.
The tournament is open to all chessers, regardless their sexes and ages, with a FIDE rating limit of 1700 and below.
The two-day tournament will use the six-round Swiss System format and will stake cash prizes, trophies, medals and certificates to the winners.
“This kind of tournament will help you to achieve your goal or dream of becoming a titled player. Joining FIDE Rated Standard Chess Tournaments will give players the chances of reaching or achieving at least the minimum required Fide Standard Rating,” according to the organizing committee.
There will be no onsite registration.
Registration fee for Fide rated players is P300 and for unrated players—P500. Please register on or before November 5, 2019 to secure participation.
