UnionBank of the Philippines has a new type of branch ambassadors named “Eve.”
A generation of state-of-the-art robots about three feet tall, the first set of Eves will be deployed to four UnionBank ARKs or fully digital branches —at the head office along Meralco Avenue in Pasig, at Insular Building in Makati, on 32nd Street Bonifacio Global City in Taguig and in Katipunan, respectively.
They will initially function as greeters but they are programmed to learn certain functions in bank branches.
This new type of ambassadors will help customers to digital banking. They will guide clients on how to use the self-service machines and the queueing system, as well as teach them how to register to UnionBank Online—an app which allows clients to bank from the comforts of their home or office.
Apart from this, they can also direct people to the ARK ambassadors, answer questions about bank products and invite guests for coffee. They also know how to sing, dance and entertain customers, according to UnionBank president and CEO Edwin Bautista.
UnionBank collaborated with a foreign robotics tech company to create Eve—which is seen to be instrumental in further enhancing customer experience and operational efficiency.
A frontrunner in digital banking, UnionBank is committed to utilize technology to augment banking experience and address common pain points in banking. Most recently, it was awarded the 2019 Frost & Sullivan Asia-Pacific excellence in customer experience for the Philippine banking industry.
Frost & Sullivan lauded UnionBank’s customer-driven strategy which continues to propel the company to even greater heights.
“The bank is performing well beyond the trail of innovation, completely transforming its banking capabilities and enhancing customer experience,” it said.
