Police on Wednesday reiterated its call to the public to be aware of members of Budol-Budol Gang and other criminal elements preying on unsuspecting people, especially this coming peak buying holiday season.

Budol-Budol Gang can strike anywhere using its alleged powers of hypnotism and “boodle” or counterfeit money.

They lure or blackmail their victims into giving valuables or cash in exchange for a bag filled with fake bills or products, police said.

On Tuesday, Jaenchen Delisa, 52, a resident of Parkway Place, Filinvest, sought the help of the Muntinlupa City Police Station after she was victimized by three women while she was at a mall in Alabang around 10:40 a.m. last Monday.

Investigation showed that while Delisa was inside a bookstore, a woman approached and asked her for help, saying she was a Korean businesswoman looking for a one particular factory.

Another woman joined them in their conversation and offered a ride and informed that she knew the address of the factory.

The three proceeded to the factory and while on the parking lot, another woman appeared and introduced herself that she was the manager of the establishment and they offered a discount.

Inside the car, one of the women put a bundle of money on the black hand bag and later convinced Delisa to do the same.

The victim gave her necklace, two rings, earrings, gold bracelet worth P930,000 and cash money amounting to P30,000.

Minutes later, Delisa was convinced to alight from the car and the three women promised her they will return.

Several hours passed, the women did not showed up, and Delisa decided to open the bag. To her surprise, the bag contains two bundles of folded Grade 4 writing pad wrapped in a brown enveloped.

Last year, operatives of the Makati City police arrested 10 suspected members of the gang who victimized an elderly woman inside Power Plant Mall, Rockwell in Barangay Poblacion.

The suspects were identified as Angelita Ditos, 52; Mabelle Lopez, 42; Elenita Alba, 58; Analyn Perez, 43; Marie Cablo, 37; Linda Marquez, 44; Adelmo Ranas, 58; Ramon Bertuldo, 51; Jerry Apao, 59, and Edgar Yabut, 60.
