Sarah G is ‘unforgettable’

A few years ago, I wrote about Sarah Geronimo not being given the right project to showcase her talent as a reliable screen actor. Though she’s made her mark on the big screen via romantic comedy films, specifically through A Very Special movie series, it felt like the actress and singer could still offer more than making people laugh.

In my previous interview with pop superstar, she said that she felt frustrated that she’s only offered with romcom projects.

“I know I can still do more which is why I personally requested for a project that would not revolve around two people falling in love in a comedy-romantic way,” Sarah said.

Prior to starring in the blockbuster film, Miss Granny, the local adaptable of the South Korean hit movie, Sarah revealed she was already in talks with directors Jun Lana and Perci Intalan regarding an out-of-the-box character that public would remember her for.

“It’s about a special girl who loves unconditionally, whose perspective in life is different from most of us in real life,” the singer and actress said. “It’s a kind of role that I know I would be proud of.”

True enough, at the red carpet premiere of Unforgettable, Viva Entertainment’s latest potboiler, Sarah G stunned everyone at the SM Cinema, where the screening was held, with her superb skills and compelling acting performance as Jasmine. It’s a role she confidently portrayed as if she’s going through the situation her character is confronted by.

While there are small parts in the movie, which featured cameo performance from Regina Velasquez, Anne Curtis, and Marco Gumabao, to name a few, that didn’t take the fact that it’s Sarah G’s character that convincingly connected with the audience with her fine and refined acting.

In the story, Sarah plays a young woman on a journey to Baguio.  Her goal is to bring Happy to her sick grandmother.  The moment Happy came into Jasmine’s life, the dog proved to be a blessing.  Now Jasmine believes that Happy would be instrumental to her grandmother’s healing.

As the two make their way to the City of Pines, they meet different kinds of people.  With Jasmine’s sharp memory and Happy’s remarkable skills, they are able to help people somehow, touching lives in every place they pass by.  And every step brings them closer to the person whose life Jasmine wants to save the most.

The incredible tricks of Milo are certainly something to look forward to in this movie.  This wonder dog also starred in Vice Ganda’s box office hit, Fantastica.  As early as 2017, Milo has been appearing in various TV programs, showcasing his ability to play dead, roll, spin nonstop, jump through his master’s arms, remove his master’s socks, do a massage, and even pray before eating!  No wonder Sarah said that she was always excited about going to the set and seeing Milo.   Milo was only 2 months old when his owner Daryl Tristan Huertas started to train him.
