This corner features pets of animal lovers every week. We hope new owners and those thinking of getting a pet will be encouraged to be responsible “furparents” through these features. We also hope more people will be moved to be kind to animals when they read about the great relationship that can be created between humans and animals.

My furry bestie - Shelby

SHELBY was rescued last year.

Her rescuer and now furmommy, Riza Montelan, was driving to Bulacan to meet her old friend Carmie when she saw Shelby.

“Along the way, I saw this beautiful dog searching for food in a pile of garbage. I stopped and asked if someone owns her,“ Riza recalls.

“Unfortunately, no one did. I felt sad at the same time happy because I had the chance to bring her home, “ Riza adds.

“We went straight to the vet to have her checked. They found her to have an infection and treated it,” Riza says.

“Today, Shelby,  two (2) years old, remains healthy,” Riza proudly says.

My furry bestie - Cheese

CHEESE was found in a backyard where she would wait for a meal.

“Cheese is my one-year-old rescued baby. I got her from my Lola Ading's backyard. Cheese would always come for a meal, “  her rescuer and  now furparent Gabby Gavin says.

Gabby adds: “When my Lola got sick last year, i decided to take care of Cheese.”

Gabby loves Cheese very much. “She's my very malambing na baby. I make sure to buy her treats before I come home from work,” Gabby shares.

“Sometimes I bring her to the office and she freely roams around. Everybody loves her!” Gabby says.

“I made sure of her vaccines because I don't want her to get sick, “ Gabby adds.
