The Podium reopening celebrates PH-Singapore relations

Singaporean President Halimah Yacob graced the opening of the expanded The Podium Mall in Ortigas, which also marked the 50th anniversary of the Philippine-Singapore diplomatic relations. 

A joint venture between the Philippines’ BDO Unibank and Singapore’s Keppel Land Limited, the newly completed expansion showcased the strong ties, shared expertise, and successful collaboration between Philippine and Singapore industry leaders.

Joining President Halimah were spouse, Mohamed Abdullah Alhabshee, and Singapore officials Indranee Rajah, second minister for finance and second minister for education; Dr. Koh Poh Koon, senior minister of state; and Singapore Ambassador to the Philippines Gerard Ho Wei Hong and deputy chief of mission Zhou Suli.

On hand to welcome the special guests were BDO chairperson Teresita Sy-Coson, SM Prime Holdings executive committee chairman Hans Sy, BDO president and chief executive Nestor Tan, Keppel Corp. chairman Dr. Lee Boon Yang, Keppel Corp. chief executive officer Loh Chin Hua, and Keppel Land chief executive Tan Swee Yiow, along with representatives from the Philippine government and members of the diplomatic and business community. 

Following the opening ceremony at The Podium Hall, President Halimah and guests toured the lifestyle and food pop-up fair Singaporium. A joint project of The Podium and Enterprise Singapore, the fair featured 17 Singaporean fashion, lifestyle, and food brands.
