Young equestrienne Minxie Romualdez was the recipient of the coveted Equestrian Philippines Sportsmanship Award at the recently concluded Equestrian Philippines Riders Tour 2019 / 3rd Manila Polo Club Showjumping Competition held on September 29.
The 11-year-old daughter of House Majority Leader Ferdinand Martin Romualdez and TINGOG Partylist Congresswoman Yedda Romualdez, shone in exhibiting discipline, hard work, and dedication during team training, and hospitality and camaraderie during the hosting of the visiting team from Malaysia.
“Minxie is a kind, gracious, thoughtful, and wonderful young girl, who represented her team and her club in a way that makes us all very proud. At an early age, true Filipino hospitality and charm shines through her, and she was delightful towards our visitors from Malaysia,” said Equestrian PH president Carissa Coscolluela.
Team coach Joker Arroyo further commented: “Minxie was faced with a challenging training period, having to ride unfamiliar and difficult horses. She rode each one to the best of her ability, with great determination, and never once complained. She already exhibits the determination of a true athlete.”
The young Romualdez is a member of the Champion team from the Philipppines that bested the Malaysian team at the Riders Tour event. She rode in the 65 cm category and places second aboard Galaxy.
