Mayor Toby Tiangco, together with Vice Mayor Clint Geronimo, City Treasurer Encarnacion Santiago, and other department heads, received the award.

“The recognition we received is the outcome of the collaborative effort of all city employees and personnel.  It validates the positive results of our fiscal management and the steadfast support of our constituents,” Tiangco said.

“This award brings not only recognition and esteem; it also inspires us to further our efforts to improve the lives of Navoteños,” he added.

The Wealth Center award is given to the city with a commendable investment and tax collection program.

Navotas was recognized for the growth of its tax collections which was anchored on the implementation of the city’s 2018 Revised Revenue Code.

The city implemented a staggered collection of real property taxes for industrial and commercial assets for three years. Meanwhile, business tax rates remained the same.

Records showed that revenues from local sources increased by 28 percent from June 2017 to June 2018, when the city earned P690,058,733, to P884,206,762 in June 2018 to June 2019.

The collected revenues were then prudently spent and invested in infrastructures, programs, and services responsive to the needs of Navoteños.
