Twenty-nine inmates of the Manila City Jail were hurt in a riot that broke out between the members of two groups on Sunday morning.
Super Radyo dzBB’s Mao dela Cruz, quoting a jail official, said nine of those hurt were taken to a hospital.

Members of the Batang City Jail and the Sputnik Gang were involved in the riot, he said.
Initial investigation showed that the riot broke out at 6:28 a.m. but was quickly stopped with help from the police.
Jail officials said jail visits were suspended for the day while an investigation into the incident was being conducted.
