Four Lee Seung Gi dramas to watch before his big fan meet next month

Filipino “Airens” finally have a chance to meet their beloved “oppa” Lee Seung Gi as he brings his Vagabond Voyage fan meet tour in Manila on Oct. 12 at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City.

South Korean heartthrob Lee Seung Gi will meet his Pinoy fans once again in a fan meet that’s going to be held at New Frontier Theatre on Oct 12.

The event is certainly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for longtime fans of Seung Gi, but for Korean drama fans hoping to be introduced to his charming persona, we listed down four of his dramas that you can binge-watch (or re-watch) before his fan meet:

My Girlfriend is a Gumiho (2010)

My Girlfriend is a Gumiho

The 32-year-old Hallyu star rose to fame in the Philippines by portraying aspiring action-star Cha Dae Woong in My Girlfriend is a Gumiho, which aired on ABS-CBN in 2011. He starred alongside Shi Min Ah, who played the legendary nine-tailed fox (a.k.a. Gumiho) in human form named Miho. The drama was extremely popular during its run, even earning various awards during the SBS Drama Awards.

King 2 Hearts (2012)

Set in a reimagined time period where the South Korea’s monarchy never ended and the royal family’s bloodline still continues, the series is about how South Korean Prince Lee Jae Ha (portrayed by Seung Gi) and North Korean Special Forces Officer Kim Hang Ah (played by Ha Ji Won) fell in love. As they decide to get engaged, the biggest challenge comes their way: overcoming their differences as citizens coming from the opposite sides of the Korean peninsula.

Gu Family Book (2013)

The roles are reversed from Lee Seung Gi’s role in My Girlfriend is a Gumiho as he is now the one who plays a mystical being named Choi Kang Chi. Kang Chi was orphaned by his parents—guardian spirit Gu Wol Ryung and nobleman’s daughter Yoo Seo Hwa. Despite this, he still grew up to be loyal and with a good heart, which made Dam Yeo Wool (played by Bae Suzy) fall in love with him.

Hwayugi: A Korean Odyssey (2017-2018)

Hwayugi: A Korean Odyssey

Fresh from airing on ABS-CBN just last year, Hwayugi is a spin-off of the Chinese classic Journey to the West. Lee Seung Gi plays the powerful yet deceitful immortal Son Oh Gong who is bound to Jin Seon Mi due to his contract with her as a little kid 25 years ago. Things become complicated when the two try not to fall with each other after Seon Mi unintentionally traps Son Oh-gong’s heart with a magical bracelet making him her “love prisoner.”

This 2019, Lee Seung Gi is set to star in new spy drama titled Vagabond, reuniting him with his Gu Family Book co-star Bae Suzy.

His fan meet in Manila, presented by Hook Entertainment and Applewood with ABS-CBN Events and CDM Entertainment, is just one of the four stops in his Vagabond Voyage tour in Asia.

Tickets can be bought for P9,500 (MVP), P6,850 (VIP) and P4,000 (Airen Pass). MVP ticket holders get to be on a group photo with Lee Seung Gi, VIP tickets holders have a chance to be a part of the group photo while Airen pass holders can win a poster signed by the Korean star.
