Garcia awarded UST Most Outstanding Alumna

Bataan Vice Governor Cris Garcia has been awarded by University of Santo Tomas as its Most Outstanding Alumna of the College of Commerce and Business Administration for her exemplary achievement in the field of public service on Monday.

The awarding ceremony was held at the UST Medicine Auditorium. Two other UST alumni were awarded.

The vice governor finished her elementary and secondary education at Balanga Elementary School and Tomas del Rosario Academy, respectively, according to 1Bataan news portal.

She took her Bachelor of Science in Commerce Major in Accountancy at UST.

In year 2000, Garcia pursued her master’s degree in Business Administration, Major in Fiscal Administration at the Philippine School for Business Administration, graduating cum laude, based on the capitol news portal.

She worked as legislative staff to former 2nd District representative, the late Enrique “Tet” Garcia, Jr.

Cris Garcia continued her stint at the House of Representatives as legislative staff officer until 2016, where she was exposed to matters pertaining to legislation that prepared her for her current post, said the news portal. 

In 2005, Garcia also started serving as coordinator of the Iskolar ng Bataan program, which she held until 2016, when Comelec recognized her as the substituted candidate for the vice governor position. She was reelected unopposed last May.
