Some of the popular bites from the country that considers eating a national pastime were brought in to the country whose people love to try virtually any kind of food.
In celebration of the 50 years of diplomatic relations between Singapore and the Philippines, government agency Enterprise Singapore and The Podium Mall staged on Sept. 6-15 an exclusive lifestyle and food pop-up, Singaporium at The Podium Mall”•just in time for the mall’s grand opening on Sept. 10.
The exclusive event offered Manila consumers a chance to experience the flavors and sights of The Lion City. It also provided the participating 17 Singaporean brands a chance to reach a new market, as is the goal of Enterprise Singapore.
Foodies tried authentic Singaporean bites at the pop-up on the second level of the mall. There were the customizable burgers from Wolf Burgers, succulent satay”•the traditional skewered meat grilled over slow-burning charcoal”•at Juamain Sataysfaction, and Singaporean noodles from 73-year-old heritage noodle house Ming Fa.
Singapore’s take on Western dishes such as roasted BBQ pork ribs and roasted chicken leg quarter were offered at Collin’s booth, while Stuff’d offered healthy and fresh Halal-certified Mexican and Turkish food. Mouthwatering wok-fried rice bowls from Wok Hey delighted mall-goers, as was Asian drink purveyor Yeo’s with its ready-to-drink teas, soy drinks, and juices, and bean-to-bar maker Benns’ melt-in-your-mouth chocolate.
In addition to food and beverage brands, Singaporium also showcased a couple of fashion and lifestyle brands such as Second Nature, a clothing label that focuses on creating comfortable everyday wear, and Her Velvet Vase, a retail brand that offers clothing and accessories designed in-house and sourced from all over the world.
Also present were health and wellness brand Osim, skincare and face spa company Porcelain, and Singapore Airline’s flagship retailer KrisShop.
Toy design studio Mighty Jaxx, Singapore’s premier entertainment cafe Play Nation!, artisanal crafts company Beynd Artisan, and stationery and gift shop Klosh showcased their products and services as well.
