The Top Model fast track challenge competition held during the Miss World Philippines Charity Gala 2019 on Wednesday may have given us the clue as to who will be the country’s bet at the Miss World pageant late this year.
After the gala night fashion show featuring the forty candidates wearing creations of local designers Mark Bumgarner, Rau Ablaza, Nat Manilag, Mikee Andrei, Cherry Veric, Rosenthal Tee, Rhett Eala, and Albert Andrada, the Top five Model finalists were named.
As expected, Michelle Dee, the 22-year-old model and daughter of Melanie Marquez, was named one of the five Top Model finalists. Michelle Thorlund, a Fil-Danish beauty and former 2016 Mutya Pilipinas Overseas Communities, also made it along with Kayesha Chua, Katrina Llegado, and Justiene Ortega.
In the Talent fast track competition, former award-winning child actress and now Kapuso star Isabelle de Leon, who performed Tina Turner’s “Proud Mary” was named one of the seven finalists. Michelle Arceo, Wowowin’s Gandang Filipina 2017 winner and actor Albie Casiño’s girlfriend, made it with her Arianna Grande “Dangerous Woman.”
Sammie Anne Legaspi, a 2017 Bb. Pilipinas Top 25 semi-finalist, did a salsa dance number, while Jacqueline Hammoude, and Shiela Marie Reyes performed a Tahitian and contemporary dance number, respectively. Trisha Gutierrez sang a Beyonce song, and Erica Rose Madkangsakay also did a song number.
The Top Model and Talent fast track winner will be announced during the finals of Miss World Philippines 2019. Other titles at stake are Miss Eco Philippines, Miss Multinational Philippines, Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas, Miss Eco Teen International, and Miss Philippines Tourism.
The grand coronation happens tonight at the Smart Araneta Coliseum to be telecast live via GMA’s Sunday Night Box Office at 10:00 o’clock.
