Wearnes Automotive, a leading distributor and retailer of premium cars in Southeast Asia, has announced that the company will be the exclusive partner of Koenigsegg, Pininfarina and Rimac hypercars. These brands will be part of the Prestige Division which recently added Alpine and Lotus to its stable of brands including Bentley and Aston Martin. The company will be able to sell Koenigsegg, Pininfarina and Rimac hypercars across Asia.
“There is an increase in demand and a growing appetite among Asian customers for hypercars. Our customers form an exclusive group of automobile collectors in search of the very best,” says Mr Andre Roy, Chief Executive Officer. “These three new brands will add to the portfolio in our Prestige Division. Coupled with our expertise and experience in the ultra- luxury segment, we are confident of further strengthening our position in this segment.”
To help high-end car collectors enhance, preserve and protect their investments, Wearnes Automotive has also embarked on building a state-of-the-art, climate-controlled bonded car storage facility in Singapore. This will allow luxury car collectors to store their rare, limited- edition and classic cars in an exclusive and secure environment.
The Next Frontier—The Koenigsegg Jesko
Koenigsegg Automotive AB was started in Sweden by Christian von Koenigsegg in 1994, with the ambition of creating the perfect hypercar. The Koenigsegg CC prototype was completed in 1996—just two years after the project began—and boasts a unique carbon body with a detachable roof.
Under Christian’s keen and direct guidance, Koenigsegg now sets numerous world records. Each and every Koenigsegg is painstakingly built by a select group of automotive artisans to the highest possible standards. The manufacturing and assembly of components used in a Koenigsegg are incredibly labour-intensive processes, using only the best materials.
Wearnes Automotive launches with the Koenigsegg Jesko, an all-new hypercar that was recently unveiled at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show. Featuring a redesigned 5.0 litre twin-turbo V8 engine producing 1280 horsepower on standard gasoline and 1600 horsepower on E85 biofuel, the Jesko is set to be the leading track-focused, road-legal car for those looking for the ultimate in vehicle performance.
Pininfarina Battista—The World’s First Pure Electric Luxury Hyper GT
In 2014, the chairmen of Pininfarina SpA and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., Paolo Pininfarina and Anand Mahindra, discussed and agreed upon how their respective companies’ strengths could combine to truly change the automotive landscape.
The relationship then developed with an agreement confirming that the legendary Italian carrozzeria, with almost 90-year history, Pininfarina SpA build and design the world’s first electric luxury hyper GT through a new company called Automobili Pininfarina. The new company’s sole objective is to design and market Pininfarina-branded cars that will embody everything that Pininfarina stands for—with each car combining beauty and innovation that is ahead of its time, and yet is timeless and instantly desirable.
To meet the demand of all-electric hypercars in Asia, Wearnes will debut the Pininfarina Battista, expected to arrive in 2020. This car will be the most powerful road-legal car ever designed and built in Italy, boasting 1,900 horsepower and 2,300 Nm torque with zero emissions. The engine will thrust the Battista from zero to 100 km/h in less than two seconds, and yet is capable of a range of 450 kilometres on one charge with a 120 kWh Li-ion battery pack.
Rimac C_Two—An Electric Hypercar Alive with Technology
Founded in Croatia in 2009, Rimac started as a garage project, which then grew into a globally recognised technology leader, built upon the passion and vision of the company’s Founder and CEO Mate Rimac.
With a strong belief that electric propulsion systems can be used to power the new generation of sports cars that enables them to be better, faster and more exciting, Mate set out to demonstrate this by developing the company’s flagship, the Concept_One. The car debuted in January 2013 and was entirely designed, developed and manufactured in-house.
Expected to launch in 2020 is the Rimac C_Two, the world’s most powerful electric hypercar, demonstrating Rimac’s expertise in high-performance vehicle systems. Powered by a four-motor powertrain system with 1,914 horsepower and 2300 Nm of torque, the C_Two accelerates from zero to 100km/h in 1.85 seconds, and reaches 300km/h in 11.8 seconds.
