Pirates see Altas as a challenge

Facing the University of Perpetual Help Altas will be a challenge for the Lyceum Pirates.

Coach Topex Robinson said this ahead of their 4 p.m. clash with the Altas in the 95th National Collegiate Athletic Association men’s basketball tournament.

Robinson expressed that the players have been working on improving their game as a team, as they focus on their mission to stay on track for a Final Four slot.

“Perpetual Help is going to be a challenge for us, and we just want to keep improving as a team,” said Robinson.

The Pirates have bounced back from their 81-87 loss to the Arellano Chiefs with a 93-90 triumph over the same squad in their second round encounter.

This time, the Marcelino twins showed the way with with Jayvee finishing with 12 points, seven assists, and five rebounds, and Jaycee making 10 points, three rebounds, and three assists.

The Altas have a 3-6 win-loss slate in fourth spot with the Mapua Cardinals.

The Blazers (6-3), who are seeking to bounce back from a 63-88 loss to the Letran Knights, take on the San Sebastian Stags (6-3) at 2 p.m.

In the junior division, the Lyceum Junior Pirates (7-3) seek to solidify their grip on no. 2 spot in their 12 noon meeting with the Perpetual Help Junior Altas.

La Salle Greenhills (5-5) fights the SSC Staglets (4-6) at 8 a.m.
