Continuing with their respective shufflings for better campaigns ahead, Alaska and Blackwater swapped big men yesterday in the Philippine Basketball Association.
The Aces sent Carl Bryan Cruz to the Elite in exchange for a much-needed slotman in rookie Abu Tratter.
Cruz is expected to have significant minutes with Blackwater, something he did not have consistently with Alaska.
He already started practicing with Blackwater yesterday.
On the other hand, Tratter will also have an opportunity to be a key contributor in the middle for the Aces, who have lacked ceiling the past few conferences.
This is just one of the few moves that Alaska already did this past month.
The Aces first acquired Maverick Ahamnisi from Rain or Shine, also in a trade, before replacing then coach Alex Compton with Jeff Cariaso.
Alaska is clearly in rebuild mode after its inconsistent campaigns the past few seasons.
