Malapitan leads dismantling of Caloocan barangay halls

The Caloocan City government has continued its clearing operations to ensure that all streets of the city are cleaned and no obstructions have been left, in accordance with President Rodrigo Duterte’s order to all the local government units in the metropolis.

Mayor Oscar Malapitan, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chairman Danilo Lim and MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia led the clean-up drive in Barangay 103 and 104, where two barangay halls were dismantled.

“We don’t stop with this clearing operations along with the MMDA officials to see to it that there will be no obstruction left along the street,” the mayor said.

Malapitan said they will ensure that all obstructions, including barangay halls, will be dismantled before the 60-day deadline set by the Department of the Interior and Local Government.

In a statement by the Office of the Mayor, 100 percent of the city’s main thoroughfares have been cleared under the Task Force “Alis Sagabal.”

The task force will also deploy various trucks around the city to haul debris and materials from the dismantled barangay halls after the clearing operations along major thoroughfares.
