The episode also saw the return of the ‘Puso ng Saya Awards,’ which gives recognition to inspiring individuals or groups who are able to spread positivity through their happy disposition despite life’s challenges. This year, Pusong Gala goes around the metro in search of worthy awardees.

Viral blind rapper Jericho “Kokey” Fernando Corpus of Malabon was the first recipient of the award. He also performed with his idols Julie Anne San Jose and Gloc-9.

The following Sunday (Aug. 4), the program unveiled its brand new set, introduced new characters, and presented a new SPS dance craze.  The show also launched a nationwide comedy-reality competition, ‘The Joke.’ This opens doors for aspiring and amateur comedians to become a regular cast of the program.

Then, the weekly winners of Hatawanan Grand Showdown also returned for a dance-off. In the end, the Tween Team, composed of Kyline Alcantara, Ryzza Mae Dizon, Sofia Pablo, Will Ashley, and Bruce Roeland, was hailed as the first ever champion of the Hatawanan.

The episode’s Puso ng Saya awardee was “Kariton Kid” Michael Angelo Tatad who was recognized for his perseverance to achieve his dreams and his undeniable talent in singing. Michael sang a duet with Aicelle Santos and Julie Anne.

Today, Sunday PinaSaya goes all out on a special comedy concert entitled ‘Puso ng Saya Day,’ featuring live performances from the cast and special guests, which echoes the Filipino positive spirit.

Meanwhile, the ‘Puso ng Saya Celebrity Awards’ will pay tribute to four Filipino comedians whose long careers are dedicated to making the Filipinos happy. It will be done through sketches and musical performances from the show’s cast members.
