My Furry Bestie

This corner features pets of animal lovers every week. We hope new owners and those thinking of getting a pet will be encouraged to be responsible “furparents” through these features. We also hope more people will be moved to be kind to animals when they read about the great relationship that can be created between humans and animals.

My furry bestie Chuokoy

CHUOKOY, rescued from Bulacan, is a male senior mix of Japanese fitz and shih tzu.

Owner Martha Ycelle Faith recalls that Chuokoy “roamed around the barrio side of Bulacan looking for food. My son told me to rescue him from  hunger so from my place, I didn't hesitate to get him.”

Martha adds:  “He had a skin problem at the back that caused baldness. He was skinny too. I spent most of my money for the transportation just to get to him.”

Martha treated Chuokoy’s skin problem by giving him a bath three times a week using the lukewarm water from boiled guava leaves. After two weeks, the skin problem was gone.

“He is so smart sweet and clingy. He would raise his front paws to stand whenever he asks for a cuddle,” Martha says.

.”Now he's my little baby bunso roaming in my place and making me happy, Martha adds.

My furry bestie Himmo

HIMMO is the newly adopted three-month-old puppy of Leleng S. Jose.

Himmo is an asong pinoy or aspin who acts as if he is a big dog already.

“He shakes hand, bows his head, stands when u you hold himup, and sits when you say “upo,’” says Leleng.

“Yes, puppies  learn tricks easily, “ she adds.

“We are a family who loves dogs to the fullest. We never leave or abandon dogs. Dogs are truly loyal and give us unconditional love. We do the same to them, “says Leleng.

Himmo’s name came from the word hymn, Leleng adds.
