Around 100 golfers from all over the region will play four rounds of golf at three courses in Metro Manila and in Cavite.

“This gives us a platform to champion the Filipino (when it comes to sports and golf),” said Travellers International Hotel Group executive Jeff Evora during yesterday’s launch at the Hilton Hotel in Pasay City.

Evora discussed the tournament in the presence of Senior Director for Hotel Sales Kathy Mercado and Regent Travel president Connie Mamaril.

The tournament will use the Stableford format since team play will be emphasized.

Around 15 teams are expected to see action since more than 300 golfers are expected to sign up.

The golfest is open to amateurs aged 35 to 70 years old.

“We emphasize team play. Dito maghahatakan ang mga magkakaibigan at magkapamilya,” said organizer Chris Mamaril.

RWM and Regent Travel have put together packages that would maximize the participants’ experience.

The packages include six nights of hotel accommodations, with breakfast at selected hotels among other things, aside from four rounds of golf, caddie and golf cart sharing fees.
