Employees from the Integrated Revenue Management–Mainstream Fraud, Compliance, Innovations and Solutions group of PLDT wireless unit Smart Communications recently organized a coastal cleanup activity at the Las Piñas-Parañaque Critical Habitat and Ecotourism Area.

Composed of Freedom Island and Long Island, the critical habitat stretches more than 175 hectares. It is covered with mangroves, mixed beach forests, mudflats, ponds, lagoons, and salt marshes, and is said to be Metro Manila’s last coastal frontier.
It also hosts more than 80 species of resident and migratory birds, which come from as far as China, Japan, and Siberia.
