Packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kms per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 60 kph, it was moving northeast at 30 kph, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

The storm followed on the heels of Tropical Storm “Falcon,” which lashed northern Luzon and left four people dead.

Batanes was placed under tropical cyclone wind Signal no. 1, Pagasa said.

“Goring” is forecast to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility Friday night.

Meanwhile, “Falcon” has already left the PAR and was estimated at 1,120 kms north northeast of extreme Northern Luzon.
