A son of El Shaddai leader Bro. Mike Velarde and two board members of the beleaguered Philippine Health Insurance Corp., have been appointed to various positions in government.
President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed former Buhay Party-list Rep. Mariano Michael Velarde Jr. as deputy director general of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority last July 10, a Malacañang list revealed on Friday.
Velarde Jr., thus became as the second in command official of the agency.
Tesda used to be headed by Senator Joel Villanueva, who is the son of another religious group leader, Jesus Is Lord founder Eddie Villanueva.
Also appointed were Marlene Padua and Alejandro Cabading as board members of PhilHealth representing health care providers and expert panel, respectively.
The PhilHealth is currently headed by Ricardo Morales, are tired military official who was tapped by Duterte last month following the controversys parked by fraudulent claims.
Interior and Local Government Assistant Secretary Rico judge Janvier Echiverri was also promoted as undersecretary, while Florida Dijan and Francisco Cruz will serve as assistant interior and local government secretaries.
Meanwhile, Pasig City Judge Maria Rowena Modesto-San Pedro was elevated to the Court of Tax Appeals.
