Another Kapamilya-Kapuso team up

Though we often hear that most artistas sign up with both ABS-CBN and GMA under exclusive talent management contracts, seeing talents of the country’s top media networks collaborating on a project is no longer strange.

KAPUSO-KAPAMILYA CROSSOVER. Janine Gutierrez and Paulo Avelino are the latest stars from the country's two rival networks to collaborate on a film project. Entitled 'If We Don't Make It,' the romantic drama is produced by T-Rex Entertainment.

Just recently, GMA’s prized “bae” Alden Richards was given the green light to work with ABS-CBN darling Kathryn Bernardo. While Daddy’s Gurl Maine Mendoza is being paired with Kapamilya Carlo Aquino, too.

You see, it’s no longer impossible for big stars from two competing networks to appear in one project together. Who knows, in the future, we’ll see these TV networks sharing their talents with one another for TV and other projects just like Kapuso Eugene Domingo opposite hunky Kapamilya Tony Labrusca in a digital series version of And Babae Sa Septic Tank that now streams on iWant, an ABS-CBN digital streaming arm.

Recently, another GMA-ABSCBN crossover was introduced. Janine Gutierrez and Paulo Avelino are working on a film entitled If We Don’t Make It. It will be directed by Prime Cruz with Jen Chuaunsu as a writer.

“It tells the story of two people who are more than friends but less than lovers. They have a lot of unresolved issues. The story has a music element as well and I think that’s what we can share with you at this point,” said Paulo during an intimate press conference held at Limbaga 77 in Quezon City.

“What I like about the character that I’m going to play is that she’s very relatable. She’s dumb when it comes to love. The character was like me at one point in my life. But she’s very optimistic just like me, I’m a firm believer that when you visualize something hard enough, you’ll get it,” Janine shared.

If We Don’t Make It is under T-Rex Entertainment, the same production outfit that introduced moviegoers to interesting films like Bakwit Boys, Deadma Walking, and Patay na is Hesus, to name a few.
